Benefits
CVD coating can be applied to a wide variety of base materials including ceramics, glass, metals and
metal alloys. This process can coat precision surfaces and intricate surfaces including seal areas and
internal surfaces. CVD can withstand exposure to low and high temperature and extreme temperature
variation. It remains bonded in high stress environments and when the surface flexes due to high
adhesion characteristics. Precursor gas can be optimized for wear resistance, high lubricity, corrosion
resistance, fouling resistance, high purity, or chemical inertness, high lubricity, corrosion resistance,
fouling resistance, high purity, or wear resistance. 38
Applications
CVD products can be found in applications ranging from machine tools, wear components, analytical
flow path components, instrumentation and many other areas demanding a high performance thin
film. 38
